Bookshelves are in fact a very common item in our daily lives. When we go to a library or a bookshop, we see bookshelves of different styles and different materials.
Bookshelves also appear in our homes more and more often. In many modern households, bookshelves are custom-made by a carpenter during renovation so that they match the home's
interior style, do not look out of place and are attractive to look at. Of course, many people also buy them separately.

So how should we choose bookshelves for a library?
Usually four aspects are considered: material, practicality, price and style, but these four aspects are not equally important.
As we all know, a library is a place for storing books and holds a great many of them, so when choosing bookshelves, greater attention is paid to the material and the practicality of the bookshelf.
First, the material must be considered. The material used to make a bookshelf must not deform easily in long-term use, which requires the bookshelf to have good load-bearing capacity. Among the many bookshelves on the market today, steel
bookshelves and solid wood bookshelves meet this requirement well.
Second, practicality must be considered. A library holds a great many books, and where space is limited it needs bookshelves that take up little space yet offer large capacity, and steel bookshelves happen to meet
this usage requirement.

Third, price must be considered. On the two counts above, only steel bookshelves and solid wood bookshelves are suitable, and when price is taken into account steel bookshelves have a great advantage: on the market,
items made of solid wood are generally very expensive, and by comparison the cost-performance advantage of steel bookshelves becomes clear.
Finally, style matching must be considered. In a setting such as a library, it is acceptable as long as the colour of the bookshelves does not look out of place; moreover, the coating finish on many bookshelves today is relatively
attractive, so this aspect has even less influence on the choice of bookshelves.
So do you now understand why most libraries choose steel bookshelves?
